Point Lobos Reserve is a place full of different hiking trails close to the sea that relaxes you with the refreshing air.

Many youths today would rather stay at home playing video games than go for a hike, but if they were to experience the many things that Point Lobos Reserve offers, they would definitely change their mind.

Point Lobos has several hiking trails that one can choose to go to. The trails are safe, so toddlers can easily walk on the main trail while holding a parent’s hand. For pre-teens and teenagers, these trails will make sweet, lasting memories for you.

As you walk, you will see wildlife all around you. Bushes surrounding the trails and the warmth of the sun will make you feel relaxed and calm. You will see lizards and other small insects hiding. However, be careful of the Poison Oak that also surrounds the area.

Some trails lead to a set of stairs going down. Those stairs then lead to a mini-beach where tons of kelp have gathered on the shore. From there, you could see several Sea Otters swimming in the water, and Sea Lions lying lazily on the rocks.

The Sea Otters and Sea Lions can also be seen from the top. If you climb back up the stairs and look down, the Sea Lions will bark back up at you. The Sea Otters do not make any sound, but constantly pops their heads up to the surface to greet the visitors.

Do you enjoy playing with animals? Well, you could play with the Sea Lions here. After listening to how they communicate with each other, you could try imitating one of their barks. After imitating them, you may hear them responding back to you. Although you may not understand, it is always fun to know that they are willing to talk.

Point Lobos Reserve is a place for everyone. Kids will enjoy the wildlife and animals that they see as they hike, while adults can enjoy the scenery.
